The Advanced Analytics & Automation team is responsible for establishing the future IT landscape that will be the foundation for our data driven journey. PostNord is the leader of logistics and postal services in the Nordics and as a part of the IT organisation, we support a variety of different PostNord stakeholders in a multitude of areas using our Azure-based Data Platform as our base. It is our goal to create scalable solutions to support the development of valuable data solutions and address broad range of use cases from logistics operations, self-service reporting and advanced analytics for companywide innovation and transformation initiatives.


Our technology is focused on the Azure stack, and includes Azure Auto ML, Azure ML Ops, Azure DevOps CI/CD, Power BI etc. We prefer to use Agile, and our unit applies a pragmatic approach to SAFe to resolve dependencies and set the pace for development, but we choose the appropriate approach for the product and team.

Job duties

The team delivery consists of developing, running and monitoring time series-based volume forecasting, based on our vast amounts of historical data on logistics operations in the Nordics. Team members consist of data engineers, data scientists, product owner and scrum master and as a developer you complement the team with a strong software engineering background.

As a senior developer in a development team at PostNord, your duties can be divided in two categories. Primarily, you are a main contributor of software craftsmanship practices to enable efficient, secure and compliant implementation and running of our various forecasts. You perform hands-on coding and mentor and lead your peers in development processes and code standards.

Secondly, you collaborate and interact with the existing development team as well as stakeholders, other team members, architects and line managers to design and define the competencies, processes, models and technology needed to meet business requirements and architectural strategy.  

We are looking for you who have

To fit in the senior developer role you have been working with software development on an advanced level for several years. It is important that you like to remain hands on and enjoy working on complex and challenging solutions. You are familiar with implementation of machine learning models, and have an interest in understanding of the underlying mathematics, as well as the data- and computer science/programming skills needed to develop and deploy the forecasting models.

As a person you are curious to learn and evolve your skill set in accordance with the state of the art pace in the domain that you work in. You have realised that modern software production resembles industrial production in the sense that it requires a scalable approach to QA and deployment, and you are also humble for the fact that creating and maintaining great solutions at scale is a team effort and not an initiative of a few superheroes.

Requirement:

Experience from development work in a team setting, abiding to and contributing in architectural discussions and processes  At least 5 years experience of software development in an algorithm heavy domain Cloud literacy – PostNord data platform is developed in Azure Competence to perform visualization of model output (Power BI is our default choice) Communicates in English both written and speech

Meritorious:

Experience of MLOps and enterprise scale software engineering Python skills will be considered meriting
